ĀKE SHIRT - CORE

After years of refining this particular design, we have reached to the fifth iteration of our take on classical collared shirt. In Te Ao Māori, the term “ĀKE” encapsulates a closing part of our karakia that reflects on the idea of “forvever”, “Āke, ake, ake”. This is kupu is given to the shirt for its design integrity that will stand the test of time.  Each alternative fabrication will breath new life and character into an already trusted silhouette.

Iteration: Hand dyed with a blend of; coffee, tea, pomegranate and iron to create a colour that reaches the darkest parts of plant tannins- the core.
